OVERVIEW.

25-30. A Victor who has no one as your whole family was slaughtered in penance for how you won your Games. You were never very pleasant to begin with, which is why it was shocking to all who knew you that you won. Ever since the 3rd Quarter Quell, the half of the District that works in the Inner Forest, such as your family, viewed it as an open secret that the Games were rigged in some capacity, and that the public persona of a Tribute often meant more than any actual skill. Countless times, you stood towards the Wall, before your Justice Building, eyes ascent as you watched another kid from 7 make it to the final ten, the final eight, the final six, only to be slaughtered.

Thus, when your name was drawn, you were determined not to allow the Capitol to win. You failed to see that this is a fool’s errand, at least that you thought you weren’t going to pay the price. You learned this price in the Arena, deciding to keep your life above any others, and you paid its interest in pounds of your family’s flesh once you left. Did you ever really leave? Your mind seems to think you did not, as you are plagued by symptoms of Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder and have been heavily medicated as a result.

You are no longer naive, and you see maturity as realizing the futility in revenge, in morals, in anything at all. Panem is a wheel, meaning that there is no edge to buckle. You are known for the disjointed, above-it-all attitude you carry as a public persona, something you cultivated long before you ever knew the inside of an Arena, and you want to believe there is no difference between this persona and who you actually are. The only evidence to the contrary have been your time as a Mentor or THE HAWK and THE BERSERKER and perhaps the way your body becomes liquid and your smile alive in the presence of THE STAR.

QUICK FACTS:

CONNECTIONS.

THE STAR — Your relationship has always been secretive, though the implications of what exists behind closed doors are what originally brought you together. You pair have always been the darlings of the Capitol, prior to THE BERSERKER and THE HAWK’s winning. Filmed and shot together, you were working partners first. Now, one could call you lovers. It is a term you are more apt to call them, but only if they cannot hear you. In the past two years, a distance has grown between you, and you know you are to blame. Fear dictates your love in a way it never used to, and they know this. They call you on it in subtle ways, especially as you can only maintain contact via facile letters and platonic-sounding phone calls.

THE AUTEUR — You have worked with THE AUTEUR for the past two Games, particularly with the 98th Games. It was under their guidance and deliberate action that together were able to prevent any major fallout from the Gamemakers’ planned assaults. You have never thanked them for this help, though you have your reasons for this. You seem them as a cog in a machine, much like you are, but much too willing and complicit. You see them for what you both are: murderers.

THE BERSERKER — Notoriously, you pair do not get along. It is not a well-kept secret that you prefer working with THE HAWK, who is much more willing to bend to your desires without biting back first. In essence, you and THE BERSERKER share too many similarities, too much of the same verve, too much of everything that makes you difficult to love and difficult to live in Panem. There is a part of you that wants to save them from this fate, and there are ways in which you and THE HAWK have. However, you are not all-mighty in this world, and there will come a time when THE BERSERKER’s spirit is crushed. You simply have to be there for when they fall.
